| Historic Raetihi is close to both the Whanganui National Park and Tongariro National Park. Aside from being a good base for visitors, Raetihi also has the Waimarino Museum and a number of Historic Places Trust listed buildings, including the Royal Theatre, reportedly the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. Raetihi is the perfect place to stay if you plan to ski or snowboard on either Turoa or Whakapapa ski fields or why not set off on a mountain biking adventure to the Bridge to Nowhere or trek the great Tongariro Crossing. |
