Turoa Ski Field - Mt Ruapehu

Turoa ski field has New Zealand's highest lift and Australasia's longest vertical drop. Turoa Ski field is located on the South west side of Mt Ruapehu. Catering for beginners to expert with open slopes through to natural bowls and chutes.

For beginners there is Alpine Meadow an area close to the carpark and cafe. The more experienced have a variety of blue, black and black diamond trails with spectacular lift accessed backcountry areas.

Turoa Statistics

550 hectares with a vertical drop of 722m. Boasting 1 six seater, 2 triple and 1 quad chairlifts, 1 T bar, 2 platters and one Learners' carpet conveyer.

The Turoa Season

Late June to Late October(dependent on snow level)

Turoa Accommodation

Accommodation is available in Ohakune, Raetihi and National Park. With accommodation further afield in Turangi, Whakapapa village, Taumarunui and Taupo.

Apre Ski and other activities

Restaurants can be found in Ohakune, Raetihi and at National Park. If the slopes are not open or your a non skier/boarder take look here for other activities in the Ruapehu region.
