Dempsey Buses was established in 1988 and are based in Raetihi on the Central Plateau of the North Island,10 km west of Ohakune, the Whanganui National Park is only 27km to the West and we are on the doorstep of the Tongariro World Heritage National Park , our fleet consists of a large range of vehicles from 10 seat minibuses to 48 seat omnibuses many of which are 4 wheel drive.
In Raetihi we have an extensive workshop and our own mechanic ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet.

Contracted to the Ministry of Education we service Ruapehu College and Ohakune and Raetihi primary schools we are also contracted to Winstone Pulp International for their workers transport which is a 24/7 operation.
We also run a Nakedbus operation, servicing the Central Plateau.
Our charter buses cater for the needs of the local schools, culture and sporting groups and many other local organisations.
We have been involved in transportation for many New Zealand made films the most notable being as the major supplier of transport for Lord of The Rings, The Last Samurai, River Queen, and being involved with transport for The Lion Witch and Wardrobe and Narnia.
Transporting Cyclists, Trampers, and Canoeists into and out off the two National Parks with- in the district is also one of the many services offered by our company.
